Expansive Heart

I have started to go quietly inward, making enough distance to hear the silence. I’ve been doing this through walks in the forest and meditation. I’ve also begun reconnecting with friends and family, and I have more dates scheduled. I feel anxious for spring to arrive, but I know I must be patient to allow growth to thrive.

I feel as if I am living two lives: the one I’ve known and the one I’m working to form. It is dark out, but I can hear the geese in the nearby pond, in conversation, waiting for the rising sun. I’m preparing for the upcoming exhibition and have decided which dress I will wear.

My sewing room is calling me to have fun and play. I am ready, with my usual excitement and apprehension. Sometimes, the hardest step is the first one. The goal today is to finish the Gilded Haze dress and design the concept for the Hayworth lace slip. What is your dream calling you to do today? Will you give voice to the heart asking for sing?

This was such a fun time in Paris, working with my friend Benoit to edit the kickstarter campaign for Elsa Fitzgerald that was filmed in London.

This is the garment loft in the Baltimore Museum of Industry where a dress had never been sewn since the machines were not allowed to be used. So I brought in my fabrics and sewed this dress by hand.

This dress was not yet complete but I wore it anyway for a jazz concert with my dad many years back.

This is a memory box my friend Alicia made me from fashion school in London. So many wonderful memories, I loved fashion school so much and am blessed that I had that time in my life.
