Nourishing Spring

The sewing workroom on the farm is mostly completely set-up. We are making some transitions with the former SEW BROMO space at the Baltimore Innovation Center. I will keep a small office presence there for Elsa Fitzgerald as we work on the product development with Belvidere Terrace Atelier for the commercial pieces that will be Made in Baltimore.


So much is in flux, but I am reminding myself that alignment takes time and must calm the desire to rush. I am giving myself the creative space to explore the various elements I adore rather than just the traditional fashion collection piece. The position and perspective of the fashion industry is changing.


As entrepreneurs we must think creatively of the elements that matter most to us and build businesses that work towards joyful productivity. In many ways I feel that I am scrapping much of what I know from business school. I open the door to the freshness of spring. Fashion can be beautiful and nourishing and my desire is that it provides levity in this day.

At one point I designed some fine tailored suits and we made a prototype that I am hand sewing in this image. We had some issues with the design that we might need to revisit to finalize.
