Pushing Through

You have got to make it easy to reach your dreams by making spaces that allow for creative and mindful exploration to flow. I have a home fashion office that I adjusted this weekend to welcome an environment for designing and sewing. Making space for your passions is not just about physical space, but also time space. My calendar will begin to include intentional and regular sewing dates.

I have found most of my sewing supplies with the exception of my two most favorite items, my wrist pin cushion and my necklace scissors. If I do not find them by the end of the week, I will order another to avoid the excuse of not having them. I see now that I have all the tools resources needed to dedicate to making the most lovely gowns.

Have you ever had something you knew you were called to do, yet you left it there just sitting on the shelf? I see this with my many glorious books that I love. They are just there, lovingly calling me to open and learn. We must strike a balance where we get to love the way that we live. I am also going to prioritize walking in nature and flowing into dreams realized. How about you? What can you do today to make space to create?

I have watched the House of Elliott British series many times and always love looking at the details of their workrooms to include for example the thread holders on the tables. I also like the work outfit on the lady to the right with the black bow.

I enjoy watching the journey of the Elliott sisters in how they learn to build their own dressmaking business.

I pulled this lovely sewing machine out of the garage and into my home sewing workroom. It is really lovely and is in such amazing condition for its age. I love these vintage dressmaking shears I picked up at an antique shop. I did have them sharpened so they are ready to go.

All of these are antique with the exception of the owl, thimble and thread. I really love these heritage sewing tools they are just so cute. The little owl is a victorian recreation, it has a little pin cushion on its back for needles similar to the sweet turtle.
