Shake Out

I've broken every promise I made to my fashion dream. I stopped writing, I stopped sewing, and I let life fill with all the things that clutter the soul. Here I am at my editing deadline and I have not written the book. I gaze out toward the pond as I type away from the new writing corner I have set-up on the farm. I should have done this months ago.
I've spent hours pacing, knowing my editor is waiting, and I haven't even created the framework for the Baltimore Fashion Dream book rewrite. —I never finished the “painting with lace” dresses I planned for the fall exhibition. So now what? Do I just give up and sit with my disappointment? No. Not at all. Never! This seems to be a pattern in my process.
That’s the whole point of Baltimore Fashion Dream, it is a story about the persistence that is required when showing up for yourself. It’s about choosing action over regret—by deciding to live rather than ask "what if". So, yes, the book launch may come later than planned, but what matters most is this: to begin today for there is still time to fully embrace your dreams.
